client brief: A global top ranked jobs board for new graduates that helps find a job making use of their recent qualifications was looking to make changes to their product and organization. This company wanted to use design thinking to help make the following decisions:
Will the job board work in India as a market?
Can their business which today is high-touch work just as effectively in a low-touch model supplemented with technology?
process Pensaar co.created with the company. Starting with building customer empathy, then creating disruptive solutions that they then tested with customers and refined. The new disruptive idea is now in the process of being developed.
The teams built deep customer empathy by reviewing primary user research and then articulating key insights using an Empathy Map. Secondary research aided the team to think disruptively.
After narrowing down to the key insights, we created a problem statement to help articulate the customer needs.
I am a 20+ years old engineering student from Mysore. A high achieving student with a drive to make something of myself. A recent graduate qualified from a university and seeking for a job and
I am trying to find a specific job close to home, figure out what to do with my life, have an inspiring career
But I don’t know what to do, where to start from, too few jobs, I am under qualified/ experienced
Because I don’t have the help I need, probably gave up before I started because I cant get companies to respond to me
Which makes me feel afraid, despondent, less confident, lost, pressurised and worthless.
Going Broad to narrow
We brainstormed multiple solutions, combined seemingly unrelated ideas to come up with disruptive solutions. We then layered on the identified key customer benefits and detailed on the solutions before narrowing down to solutions using a 2X2 tool. The solutions were mapped on impact and feasibility.
